Dear Mr Taxman, tax doesn’t have to be taxing

Dear Mr Taxman, As I understand it tax doesn’t have to be taxing. I know this because HMRC has spent large amounts of my and other taxpayers’ money telling us this. Despite the reassuring nature of these adverts, I must admit to having had my doubts as to whether the statement was true. In fact, on some of my more painful trips to your website to try and understand the tax system and its various credits, I’ve often unkindly thought your slogan was meaningless tripe dreamt up by an overpaid advertising executive. Now, I know the error of my thinking and that I was missing a trick.
