The Independent Bank has been serving Texans since it was established in 1913. Asides from its service called Rewards Checking which guarantees depositors an APY of 4.01%, the bank has also started a service which accompanies that particular service. Customers who have their Rewards Checking can open a REALSaver account. This high interest savings is where the interest and ATM refund fees get automatically transferred to once they are gained.
Customers of Rewards Checking will be happy to know that asides from the 4.01% APY their main account gets, its gains also get an interest of 2.50% APY. This high interest rate is guaranteed for accounts in the rate tier of $150-25,000.99.
People who want to open accounts will need to visit one of Independent Bank’s branches. They have branches in Anna, Austin, Celina, Collinsville, Coppell, Coupland, Denison, Denton, Elm Mott, Howe, Little Elm, Manor, Prosper, Van Alstyne and Whitewright. Asides from these branches they also have three branches in McKinney namely in the following areas Adriatica, Craig and Redbud. Independent also has a strong presence in Waco with three branches located in the areas of Bosque, Elm Mott, and Woodway.
To open a REALSaver, customers must have a Rewards Checking account with Independent Bank. Customers need to make sure that they bring a minimum deposit amount of $150. There is no maintaining balance so the amount is strictly for the purposes of opening an account only. There are also no monthly fees for a REALSaver account. Upon opening depositors have the advantage of a 24 hour hotline to their banks’ tellers. They also have a free online account to Independent Bank’s online banking service.
Customers need to be aware that there are withdrawal limits per month. Each REALSaver account holder can only withdraw two times a month or six times a quarter. Failing to note this might cause the customer from meeting the requirements. Depositors who do not meet requirements will have their REALSaver APY drop to 0.30%.
